This is not an introductory trekking product.
Wukuchu is suitable only for experienced high-altitude climbers who are comfortable with crampons, an ice axe, rope travel, cold camping and an early summit start. Previous 5,000m snow-mountain experience is strongly recommended.
Climber assessment
Experience is part of the booking.
We may recommend Haba or Mount Siguniang first if Wukuchu is not a sensible next step. The assessment protects both the climber and the local mountain team.
Technical skills
You should be familiar with crampons, ice axe use and moving safely on a rope.
Cold camp
You must be ready to sleep at approximately 5,000m in a tent before summit day.
Turnaround rules
You accept that the guide’s route and safety decisions are final.
3 days, 2 nights · Chengdu round trip
A compressed expedition, not a leisurely approach.
Day 1
Chengdu → Shangchengzi Village
Drive approximately 510km from Chengdu to the mountain village. The journey usually takes around 8–9 hours. Meet the team and complete equipment and condition checks.
Day 2
Village → Base Camp → C1
The full approach is approximately 28km. The standard operating plan normally uses a local off-road transfer to base camp, followed by the trek towards C1 at around 5,000m.
Day 3
Summit Attempt → Village → Chengdu
Begin early for the summit attempt across glaciated and mixed terrain. Descend to the village, then return to Chengdu. The schedule may change or end early for safety.

Technical & objective hazards
Every summit decision remains conditional.
The route can involve glacier movement, crevasses, snow slopes, mixed ice and rock, and an exposed ridge. Conditions may change quickly and require a conservative turnaround.
Previous experience mattersFitness alone does not replace technical competence or altitude experience.
Permits and access can changeThe final operating route is confirmed close to departure.
The guide has final authorityWeather, terrain, pace and physical condition determine whether the attempt continues.
Wukuchu is not suitable for first-time snow-mountain climbers. A summit is never guaranteed.
